1. The darts league is cinfined to Pub teams who have been invited to take part in the Gort and District Darts League.
2. Teams are to be made up of 6 players minimum, to a maximum of 9 players. All players and teams must be registered by a date determined by the committee.
3. Entries will not be taken unless accompanied by a minimum of 50% of the entry fee on the night of registration. The remaining entry fees must be paid prior to 1st January 2026, if full fees aren't paid by 1st January 2026, team will be removed from all competitions.
4. Each team may have 2 County players (male or female) on their squad. A county player is someone who has played County Darts (A or B) in the previous 24 months at the start of the Gort and District Darts League. If a player becomes a county player during the league, he may continue to play with his team to the conclusion of the league regardless of the existence of another county player being in the team at the start of the league. The county player may continue to play with this team in the following years provided he has been playing in the league for the previous 2 years prior to the season in which he became a county player. This player may only play with his current team under these conditions. If he transfers to another team, he is then deemed to be a county player entering the new team. All players currently registered with teams are exempt from above rule unless they decide to move to a new team or a player that didn't play last year is rejoining the league.
5. During the course of the league season, for a player to qualify to play in the knockout phase of the league or cups, he/she must have played 50% of league matches.
6. A team must have 4 players present before they can start a game. 9.30pm is the official start time. If all 6 players are not present by 10pm, the team can play the available singles and doubles and forfeit all other games. Ie. If 5 players turn up, a team can play 5 singles and 2 doubles in any formation. Home team to throw first for score and every second throw thereafter.
7. A no show by a team before 9.30pm will result in the team in attendance being awarded the agreed points. A league (6 points for team in attendance & -3 points for non-attending team), B league (10 points for attending team & -5 for non-attending team). The only exception to this rule will be a bereavement (committee to be notified as soon as possible).
8. Friday night is fixture night. If a game is not played, it must be played on or before the following Thursday. Otherwise, the fixture will be rules null and void. Ie. Zero points awarded to both teams.
9. If a team cancels a game, that game must be played on a date and time suitable to their opponents.
10. Any disputes arising out of rule 7 & 8 should be referred to the competition and rules secretaries who will adjudicate on the dispute and assign a date and time on which the game will be played. If Game is not played, rule 7 applies.
11. When a team is cancelling a game, the competition and rules secretaries must be contacted and not their opponent's pub or team captain.
12. Publicans must ensure dart boards are in good condition and suitable for playing in a darts league. Boards must be at the correct height and ockey must be clearly marked at the correct distance from front of board. Failure to provide all these conditions will result in the following - A league (6 points for other team & -3 points for offending team), B league (10 points for other team & -5 points for offending team).
13. All game results should be returned along with player names who played or were present on the night immediately after the match has been played on team sheet with full names, no nicknames or similar should be returned.
14. Teams can change 1 player from the submitted team sheet after the first night and before the 5th night. This is to allow teams time to figure out issues with players named on 2 teams or players pulling out. Changes must be forwarded to committee. In exceptional circumstances, players can be replaced during the season with permission from the committee.
15. The A league shall contain a minimum of 6 teams. If 6 teams are not possible, an alternative format will be developed to ensure that there are 6 or more teams in the top division. Where there are 14 or more teams registered to play between the A league and B league then a minimum of 8 teams will play in the A league with the remainder playing in the B League.
16. In the event of an orange or red weather warning, committee members will make a decision on matches going ahead.
17. Competition for most 180's and highest checkout are only counted from league matches in the league.
18. Prize money for the winners and runners up in the A League and B League will be the same.
19. The Committee has the final say.
